SERMON SERIES:

FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT: PERSEVERANCE

01/18/2026

We continue with our second week of worship in the Fellowship Hall this Sunday! Each of our teams has worked diligently to continue smoothing the transition as we work through sanctuary renovations. Amidst the difficulties of the transition, there is great excitement in our church about God’s work through the ongoing construction. Through change or uncertainty, we are all fighting the good fight of faith in our lives. This week, our sermon title is Perseverance. How do you persevere in the darkness? What uplifts you in seasons of struggle? How does God bring you to a better place when the world begins to drain your joy? These questions are the difference between fighting to win and fighting to survive in our battles of faith, and we all want victory! Our scripture this week is Hebrews 12:1-3. The author is writing to all of those fighting battles of faith. This section encourages us to take hold of the resources God has given us, to look toward the true victory found in Christ, and to find great encouragement from his work as our savior. As we read Hebrews 12:1-3, we pray that God will fill you with hope and passion to persevere in the darkest moments of life.

Hebrews 12:1-3: Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
