SERMON SERIES:

TRANSFORMING GRATITUDE: COLOSSIANS

11/02/2025

We continue our series on Transforming Gratitude!  The goal of this series is to confront and overcome the drain of gratitude in our lives.  We continued to be confronted with the spiritual battle to be thankful, especially to God!  The voices all around us contend that everything is up to us and there is no help for our lives.  This is not only wrong, but it is also debilitating!  It cripples us with fear, anger, anxiety, and despair.  Our loving God wants us to find the transforming power of gratitude to enable strength and hope to guide our path.  This week, we turn to Colossians 3:12-17.  The Colossians were just like us.  The society around them was seeking to destroy their hope and trust in Jesus Christ.  Even though they knew the power of salvation and the peace Jesus had given, it was still hard to find the power of Christ in daily living.  In these verses, the Apostle Paul gives them a practical but powerful path to fill their lives and strengthen their joy in serving Jesus!  We pray you will find this path in your heart and you will be filled with the same joy and hope as these early believers when you read Colossians 3:12-17.

Colossians 3:12-17: Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
